Roof Ventilation Training

Tonight, our firefighters spend our regular Monday training night at our training facility behind our Station 1 practicing roof ventilation. Our roof props allow us to practice using our saws and tools to cut holes in roofs to ventilate the hot gases and smoke that build up during a fire. We are able to do this by placing plywood in the props, cutting them, and replacing with new. Training like this is vital so we are fully competent when we are at a fire.
