Fire Officer I Course Graduates

Congratulations to the following five firefighters for successfully completing the New York State Fire Officer I course last night!

Chief Brett Broska (taking it to replace certifications to equivalent courses no longer offered), Captain Brian Peiffer, Captain Nic Scaccia, Lieutenant Chad Lesser, Director Brett Lesser

This is the course consists of 21 three hour classes for a total of 63 hours and addresses the job performance requirements of Chapter 4 of NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications. This course includes topics such as the company officer’s duties and responsibilities, leadership and supervision, human resources management, communications, administrative functions, and health and safety issues. Also included in this course are topics including company level training, community relations, pre-incident surveys, and the delivery of emergency services.
